Osman Kavala was taken into custody on 18 October 2017 and arrested on 1 November 2017. He has been behind bars since then, facing absurd charges, baseless accusations, and unfair prosecutions. Numerous NGOs, human rights organizations, and international organizations all over the world have been calling on the authorities in Turkey for his immediate release. Yet, as also recognized by the European Court of Human Rights, Osman Kavala's rights are still being violated.
